do we really need to purchase a magic band, we usually go to DW. this will be our first time at DL and we are used to using our apple watch

    Hi there, Belem!

We're glad to have you here at planDisney! I'm excited that you'll be visiting the Disneyland Resort, there are some unique things at the resort that I know you'll enjoy.

I'm sorry to report that MagicMobile, which lets Walt Disney World Resort guests use their Apple Watch for many MagicBand functions, isn't available at the Disneyland Resort. But don't worry! While using MagicBand+ is super fun and convenient at Disneyland, it certainly isn't required. You can use the Disneyland Mobile App in place of MagicBand+ easily. In the "Tickets and Passes" section you can link your tickets to the app and then view them when you need to scan your barcode for park entry.

The Disneyland Mobile App is also how you'll purchase Disney Genie+ and reserve Lightning Lanes, mobile order food, access the park map, and more. I love that when you purchase Disney Genie+ at Disneyland it includes digital downloads of all your PhotoPass pictures that day! I also think the Walk-Up Availability in the Mobile App is an awesome feature, especially if you weren't able to get a dining reservation you wanted.

There are some fantastic attractions and experiences you can only find at Disneyland Park! Make sure you don't miss the Indiana Jones Adventure and the Matterhorn Bobsleds! In Disney California Adventure Park I highly recommend visiting Avengers Campus and Cars Land. Cruising around Cars Land just as the sun goes down is one of my favorite things. If you time it just right (check what time the sun will set that day) you'll get to see the neon lights flicker on! I'm also happy to share that Mickey's Toontown has recently been reimagined, too, and it's looking terrific. Definitely worth a visit!

Enjoy planning your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, Belem! If you have more questions about the Disneyland Resort you're welcome to send me a note here. I'd be happy to help!

    Keep moving forward!
