Hey howdy hey, Kristen! You’ve got a friend in me at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and I’d love to help you with your question!
Like you, I also love springtime at the
Disneyland Resort! During my last visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, I was able to take some family pictures in front of those very trees in the Central Hub in front of
Sleeping Beauty Castle in
Disneyland Park. What a gorgeous sight! I did some research, and discovered that those beauties are known as Tabebuia impetiginosa, or Pink Trumpet Trees. During the winter, these trees lose their leaves, then the light pink flowers emerge soon after. I found
a great video from the Disney Parks Blog highlighting these trees, and some fun facts about the Disneyland Resort Horticulture Team. It’s definitely worth a watch! Did you know that the Horticulture team consists of approximately 100 Cast Members, who do a majority of their work on the third shift, which starts at 2:00 AM? That’s when the magic happens!
Speaking of magic, even though we aren’t able to visit the Disneyland Resort right now, there are still plenty of ways to bring the magic home! First, you won’t want to miss
watching the iconic Dapper Dans using their #VoicesFromHome to perform “When You Wish Upon A Star.” And when you and your family are ready to get moving and grooving, don’t miss
this special virtual viewing of the all-new “Magic Happens” Parade! My children (and me!) can’t help but dance to the catchy soundtrack every time we hear it. Last but not least, check out
this incredible peek into Walt Disney Imagineering with a virtual tour! You won’t want to miss the monorail hallway!
Kristen, I hope these videos can help bring a bit of Disney magic into your home today. Keep following the
Disney Parks Blog for more virtual pixie dust to come!
Wishing you good health, a happy springtime, and plenty of #DisneyMagicMoments!
