Hello, we are really excited planning our next trip, but we just made our reservation for oct 10-12 and it is columbus day!! it is too crowded? should i change my plans for the next week?

Hi Rocio! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We love when our guests come back with questions!

Our family has traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort over the Columbus Day Holiday in the past. It has been my experience that while the crowds are definitely larger, we have felt that it was still very manageable and enjoyable. For us, we have just adjusted our expectations and planned a little different. We made maximum use of our Fastpass+ entitlements. We also made sure that for any sit down meals that we wanted, that we booked advanced dining reservations. We made use of extra magic hours, entering the parks early and staying late. Also, mid-day we took a break to regroup and refresh ourselves.

October in general does tend to be a busier time of year at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is a wonderful opportunity to try different food and drinks from around the world. This festival is very popular and draws in large crowds. We do still love visiting this time of year! One of the resources that I love using is They have great crowd predictor calendars and in my experience they tend to be pretty accurate

I would say to follow your heart! I think that if you plan ahead you still will be able to have a great time! Each time that we have traveled over Columbus Day weekend our family has had a great time despite the crowds.

    Have a magical vacation!
