Hi Michelle: I've just started to teach my boys about saving. Luckily, even with small allowances, my kids are able to choose from a number of non-expensive souvenirs at Walt Disney World. Depending on what you are looking for, I would budget between $5 to $50 a day.
You'll find autograph books, key chains, pens, pencils, antenna toppers, Disney-themed candy and character figurines for a few dollars. Walt Disney World luggage tags cost about $5.00. Your children can collect pins and Vinylmations (some for under $10) as well. Pressed coins are also inexpensive as they only cost 51 cents for a penny or $1.25 for a quarter. You'll fine unique coin pressing machines in unexpected places throughout Disney property. There are so many inexpensive collectibles or gifts to choose from. I would browse around the Disney Store online to get a sense of what else may be available during your trip. When you get to Walt Disney World, I would make stop at the World of Disney for an extremely large selection of souvenirs. Also, if it's a first visit, stop by at City Hall to pick up free buttons (such as "1st Visit") that you can wear. Some Cast Members will go out of their way to greet you with a kind gesture. Enjoy your vacation.
Visit Walt Disney World Resort to explore the magic.
