    Is it really going to be a big deal if my 8-year old son wears dress shorts (basically kaki pants made as shorts) with a golf shirt to dinner at the more casual restaurants on board the Dream. We'll be sure to have pants for the real fancy place.

    Hi, Allyson!

    Each evening at dinner, your family will have the opportunity to dine at one of the three main restaurants aboard the Disney Dream:  Animator's Palate, Enchanted Garden or Royal Palace.  Disney Cruise Line requests that each guest observe "cruise casual" attire in those areas -- which means no shorts, tank tops or swimwear.  Dining on deck -- such as at Cabanas or at the quick service counters by the pool -- are more casual, and room service is of course the ultimate casual dining experience.

    For a young boy, it is doubtful that anyone from the dining team will make mention of his shorts at dinner. However, I have seen servers request adult guests to change from shorts or swimwear before being seated. I usually ask that my boys wear the same khaki pants each night and switch out a collared shirt. Of course, I also have a stain stick with me on board, too!
