I had just realized that there is no more availability for the parks. We were planning to go on the 2nd of April to Animal Kingdom and on the 3rd to Magic Kingdom. Can you please help us.This is a special vacation with my son after a hard year!

Hi there Omar, and welcome to planDisney!

It feels like last year was conjured up by the Disney Villains; it was a tough time for us all! I completely understand wanting to escape and experience a bit of magic, and I also can imagine the frustration in seeing that your preferred theme parks are booked solid for your travel dates. I'd be happy to help with some alternatives so that you and your son can enjoy the perfect getaway.

First, if you are absolutely tied to going during that particular weekend, I did see that EPCOT is currently accepting reservations for April 3rd. If your son meets the 40-inch height requirement, he might enjoy a few of my kids' favorite attractions like Test Track and Soarin' Around the World. You'd also be able to explore the sights and flavors of the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Graden Festival. If you purchase a ticket that includes the Park Hopper option, you could start your day at EPCOT, and then visit the Magic Kingdom Park or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park after 2:00 PM, pending availability. Check Park Hopping status on the My Disney Experience Mobile App or by calling 407-560-5000.

April 2nd looks like it's booked solid across all four theme parks, but you could consider visiting Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park that day since, at the moment, this park does not require advance reservations. We travel to Walt Disney World from the mid-Atlantic and love to spend time in the pools and water parks during the spring when Florida's weather is Olaf-approved, but Elsa is still casting some final frosts up north.

To truly enjoy your trip as planned, you might want to think about postponing your vacation to a time when both of your preferred theme parks are available. If you are working around school vacations and looking for a long weekend, I recommend Memorial Day weekend in late-May. The Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar looks good, and you won't have to wait too long for your special trip. Check out this Panel Extra for ideas from my fellow panelists on Walt Disney World vacation countdowns.

Omar, no matter when you and your son decide to visit, I hope you have the getaway that you need. If there is anything else we at planDisney can to do help, please come see us again. Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully we'll see ya real soon!

Greetings! I'm Betsy, a middle school teacher, wife, and mom of two. My family and I love to travel the world, but our best memories are those made when we're visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort. No matter how many times we visit, there is always something new to see, ride, or eat at the Disney Parks. Learn More About Betsy
