we have just realised that we have booked our holidays over independence day, being from the UK we don't know what to expect! Will there be special events etc. How do we find out what and we get the best out of the experience? Beginning to get nervous!

Hi Elaine!  You have booked a time at Walt Disney World that is surely a fun time with lots of festivities. However, you must also realize that any holiday at Disney will be a more crowded time. Since you are planning early you should not have difficulty in booking dining and recreation so I would continue with the planning. Please just be a bit more organized and have a plan for your vacation.

On July 4th you will find extraordinary firework shows at three of the parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. Choose the park you will want to visit for this display and then make dining reservations as that will be the busiest day. Younger children will love the Magic Kingdom as there will also be parades there for them to be entertained by. It really is just a preference as all will be wonderful.

That is basically the extent of the celebrations but like I said it will draw more guests to the parks. Just plan now and make an itinerary for your days. You might want to make sure you include a water park or two for the heat of the summer in Florida will welcome that kind of diversion.  Let us know what we can do to help with your planning.
