Hi! The "real" birthday of my son is in August, but we will go to WDW in May. This travel will be the celebration of his birthday. Can he pick up the birthday button? And can we ask for something special in restaurants or some surprises?

Hi Juliane!  It is often hard to plan a vacation to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday so it actually coincides with the exact date.  Many guests will move a date around so it fits into their vacation.  You can definitely pick up a birthday button and even ask for a birthday cake at restaurants where most will serenade the honored guest.  You can also check out the Disney florist and see if there is something special you would like to have delivered to the room for your son.  You can find them at

Please understand that this can be confusing for the younger children.  They might get confused about why there is so much happening if they are aware their birthday really isn't for a few more months.  It is best to plan so you can prepare him for all of his special surprises!
