Ready to start booking fast passes for our upcoming Jan 2018 trip. I get that I can only pick 1 from the tier-1 group and 2 from tier-2. But what if we don't want any of the tier-1 selections (in AK)? Is is possible to get 3 tier-2 selections instead?

Hello Christine, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great planning question.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year when it’s time to make your FastPass+ selections. I love being able to skip the Standby lines and head straight to the FastPass+ return line to enjoy my favorite rides and attractions. It is so important to have a plan before your FastPass+ selection day since the availability for the most popular and newest rides and attractions goes so fast.

The tiered system for FastPass+ distribution is in place to make sure that all guests have the opportunity to enjoy at least one popular rides or attractions in every park. I am happy to tell you that if you do not have to choose a Tier I attraction, as a part of your initial 3 FastPass+ selections. All 3 of your FastPass+ selections can come from Tier II. In the Magic Kingdom, there are no tiers for any FastPass+ attractions.

You can begin to make your FastPass+ selections 30 days prior to your arrival, with a valid admission ticket linked to your My Disney Experience account. If you are a guest staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can make your selections 60 days prior to your check-in date. You can begin making your selections at 7:00 AM sharp. I recommend that you sign in to My Disney Experience online or using the mobile app about 5-10 minutes in advance, so you are logged in and ready to go.

Andrea’s planning tip: Try to make your FastPass+ selections as early in the day as possible. Once you have redeemed your initial selections you can obtain a 4th FastPass+ reservation as long as there is availability. Yes, you can even select a Tier I FastPass+ attraction if there are any available. Good luck with your planning.

    See ya real soon,
