Ready, set, yoga! I cannot wait to strike a pose in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Since all that downward dog will make one work up an appetite. I was wondering what the Disneyland options are for an early breakfast. Thanks and see ya real soon!

    Hi there, Donna!

Welcome back to planDisney! I got very excited when I saw your question because I've been preparing for my own visit to the Disneyland Resort for the runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend and I am counting down the days till we can run through the parks!

The Disneyland Yoga event sounds so amazing! Checking out the details from the information that runDisney emailed to race participants last week (make sure you don't miss that email!) it looks like yoga is scheduled to end at 6:00 AM. Disneyland Park opens that day at 8:00 AM (7:30 AM for Disneyland Resort Hotel guests) so you'll have time to get cleaned up and ready for the day before the park opens.

As far as food options, the Downtown Disney District officially opens at 7:00 AM. But peeking at some schedules online, it appears that a few locations are planning to open extra early that day. So far, I see that Jamba Juice and Starbucks are both currently scheduled to open at 4:30 AM. So if you need some caffeine or a smoothie, you'll have options there! The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel looks like it will open at 6:00 AM, so you could stop there on your way back to your room if you're staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, too!

Personally, I'd grab a snack that morning and then have a second breakfast inside the park. That's because there's a new breakfast item that I am dying to try: a Waffle Cristo at Royal Street Verandah! I've always loved the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans and the new Waffle Cristo looks like an amazing breakfast. Protein? Check! Cheese? Check! Waffles? Check! Syrup and jam? Check! And if I haven't convinced you to try one yet, there are some other great quick breakfast options in Disneyland Park too:

I have also been known to have a DOLE Whip Float and call it breakfast. And I'm not going to lie, it was pretty great.

Donna, now I've worked up an appetite! I'm off to find a snack of my own, but hopefully you've got some good ideas for staying fueled for the race weekend. Let me know if you have other questions, and maybe I'll see you while we run those magical miles!

    Keep moving forward!
