I am ready to plan our 2nd trip to WDW. In 2010 we stayed the 2nd week in Feb. Weather was quite cold but ride lines were 15-20 min tops .I'm thinking of staying the last week of Sept in 2011. Is it a busy time or is there a better time of year? Thanks!

    Julie:

I've visited Disney World three times during the month of September and have enjoyed the low crowds and mild evenings.  In fact, my husband and I just returned from running the inaugural Wine & Dine Half-Marathon last weekend at Disney!

We found the parks to be very manageable the last few days of September, but Friday, October 1 and the first day of the Food & Wine Festival, brought crowds that were similar to ones I'd seen at Spring Break last year.  My advice: come in September during Value Season (Disney discounts the rooms, I'm sure, because there are fewer guests) but leave a few days before the Food & Wine Festival if you like short lines.  And if you're really flexible, consider coming the week after Labor Day Weekend, it's one of the lowest of the year for crowds and lines.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
