We r ready to plan our 1st trip to Disney world and it will be the 1st time for me & my 6 yr old son. I have no clue where to begin! And to complicate things, we are considering returning to a Disney cruise either before or after Disney world. Thanks

    Hi Heidi!

Hooray! I'm so excited to hear that you are beginning to plan your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation and that it will most likely be a land and sea adventure! Eeek!!!

Once you've decided when you want to visit, you'll want to check the Special Offers page and see if there might be any deals or discounts during your trip dates. You'll also want to start looking at the Disney Resort Hotels to choose which one suits your family and style the best. I usually suggest a moderate level resort for a great balance of amenities and affordability, although Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will always be one of my family's favorites.

Once you make those decisions, it's time to start planning your park schedule and dining reservations. This can become a bit overwhelming, so please visit us as much as you'd like and ask away. I, as well as any of my fellow panelists, would love to help and offer recommendations.

    Happy planning,

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
