We are ready to book our first Disney cruise aboard Dream. Can you tell me the best deck and position of stateroom to book? I am slightly concerned about motion sickness.

    Welcome Aboard, Amy!
So, you're ready to book your first Disney Cruise? Hooray! You won't be disappointed - Disney Cruise Line is the best. With Broadway-style shows, incredible dining, and unmatched personalized service, you're about to embark on the vacation of your dreams.

Motion sickness is a common concern among first-time cruisers. I, myself. have experienced different levels of queasiness onboard, from smooth sailing to completely green-in-the-gills. The good news is, I've got some helpful hints to help avoid seasickness and help you enjoy a magical voyage on the Disney Dream.

When booking your stateroom, keep in mind that you'll feel less motion on the lower decks, and in the center of the ship. Also, a view of the horizon can be helpful when adjusting to the motion of the ship, so try to avoid an inside cabin.

Remember, it may take a day or two to adjust to the movement of the ship. I rely on low doses of Dramamine during the day to keep me on an even keel until I get my sea legs. A friend that cruised with us had good luck with sea bands. Sea bands are tight-fitting wristbands that hit key pressure points on the wrist to help with nausea and motion sickness, and are available in most pharmacies.

I hope you'll find this information helpful! Please come back as you start planning your vacation if you have any questions - I'm happy to help. -Diane W.
