From my readings, Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort appears to be very popular but can someone tell me what the big differences are between Chef Mickey's and Cape May Cafe?

    Hi Henry!

Both Cape May Cafe and Chef Mickey's serve wonderful character meals, and both are actually quite popular among guests.  Here are some key differences between the two:

    Chef Mickey's:
    • Serves both breakfast and dinner buffets.
    • While characters are subject to change at all of the character meal locations, breakfast generally features Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale.  Dinner features Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Minnie.
    • The restaurant is located at the Contemporary Resort, and is easily accessible via monorail from either Magic Kingdom or Epcot.

    Cape May Character Buffet:

    • Serves only a breakfast character meal.  The restaurant features a New England-style buffet clam bake for dinner, but there are no characters present.
    • The characters at breakfast are dressed up in "Beach Ware" (this complements the fact that it's located inside the Beach Club Resort), and generally feature Minnie, Goofy and Donald.  (In the past, Chip and Dale were here, but now Donald is joining the cast.)

I hope my descriptions help you decide on one or both spots for a fabulous meal!
