I've been reading about this trial WDW is doing with magic bands. But I'm also reading about some sort of cards. Are those the same thing? Can anyone with tickets get the cards now? How do the cards work?

    Hi, Lillian!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel with your great question! You've read correctly in that there is testing going on at the Walt Disney World Resort on the brand new MagicBands as a part of the new MyMagic+.

My family had the opportunity to test out the new MagicBands on our most recent vacation and we had a lot of fun using them. The cards that you've more-than-likely read about are the RFID cards that have the same technology as the MagicBands, but in card form so that those Guests who prefer not to wear the MagicBands can easily have another option.

Since the MagicBands are currently being tested, not every Guest with a vacation package is guaranteed to be selected. Once the program is finished with the testing phases and rolls out completely, you should be able to get the RFID cards with your package. If you haven't already, subscribe to the Disney Parks Blog for updates and the most current news about MyMagic+!

I hope this helps, Lillian! Please let us know if we can help with any other questions you think of!

    Have a Pixie Dusted day!
