I was reading on a site that if you are not staying on Disney property, but still want to take advantage of the extra magic hour (evening) that you can purchase a E- ticket express for $10. Is this true? And if so, how do I purchase some?

E-ticket Express tickets are no longer offered.

They were available for purchase at resort hotels for admittance at “E-Ride” nights (approximately 1997-2004) when the Magic Kingdom would stay open 3 hours later on select evenings.  At a cost of $8 for children and $10 for adults, guests could enjoy the best attractions known as E-Ticket rides. But even then, only Walt Disney World Resort guests could purchase them. The evenings in the Magic Kingdom were wonderful as only about 5000 tickets were sold. This is during the same time that Magic Your Way tickets were known as Length of Stay or (LOS) passes.

During the Magic Kingdom’s first ten years, ticket booklets needed to be purchased to go on rides. Each ride was rated A-E. E-tickets were known as the best attractions such as the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain. Thus the popular attractions are still known as “E-tickets”. I remember my first trip to Walt Disney World, when the coupon booklets were purchased at ticket booths.

Since 2005, WDW has offered complimentary Extra Magic Hours (EMH) at all four theme parks on select morning and/or evenings to resort guests. However guests must have a valid Magic Your Way (MYW) ticket to participate. Also you cannot park hop to an Extra Magic Hour park, if you do not have the park hopper option on your Magic Your Way pass. Thus if you spend the morning at the Magic Kingdom, you can not go to Epcot’s evening Extra Magic Hours unless your MYW ticket has the park hopping option. That is why the theme park with Extra Magic Hours tends to be the busiest as many guests without park hoppers, stay in the EMH park all day.

The confusion for many people in researching ticket options for Walt Disney World is that there are a lot of old websites that have not been updated. They indeed appear to have current information when in fact they are quite outdated.
