I've been reading all the posts about fans and was curious what the Chief Electrician is looking for when he looks at a fan. If I purchase a new one, is there a good chance it's ok? And when do these get checked?

    Ahoy again Missy –

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am pleased to assist you with your question about bringing your portable fan onboard. We do not have a specific list of things that the Chief Electrician is looking for when your electronics are inspected. What I can tell you is that your unit will be checked for compatibility with the current electrical systems onboard (many European appliances are not compliant due to voltage). It will also be inspected for safety: no frayed cords, no broken components, and no way to integrate the parts with existing ship systems. I think you should be safe if you purchase a new fan that was meant for use here in the United States. Plan to stop by Guest Services at Deck 3 Midship to drop off your device for inspection after boarding the ship. Remember that devices that are non-compliant with the electrical systems will be stored until the end of your voyage and you will need to return to Guest Services to pick it up prior to debarkation. Thanks for stopping by to visit with us again, Missy!
