    Reading the Panel this morning brought up a good question that I didn't think of before. Is there anyway of knowing what group or convention is scheduled during our stay (12-2 / 12-11)? Concerned about the crowds.

    Hi Laverne!  No there really isn't any way to know what groups will be arriving at Walt Disney World on a regular basis.  Some corporations have been continually visitors at the same time year after year but even so there is no guarantee they will return or change what they have formerly done.

    The convention groups generally don't affect the park numbers to a great deal. During the day you will find them in meetings and company activities and most guests will not be aware of the convention activities unless they are staying at the same resort hotel.  We often stay at the Yacht and Beach Club and they are a big convention destination and the groups generally don't affect our stay one bit.  Our only irritant has sometimes been that they will hold beach side private parties that will take over that area where we might have wanted to also enjoy but can't.

    The biggest addition to park crowds will be the youth groups coming in for sports type events held at Disney's ESPN Wild World of Sports. Click HERE.  You can check on line for a current schedule of events month by month to be held at those facilities and can also call them directly to see what might be going on during your vacation. (Pop Warner is often there during the early days of December). I will say that there isn't hardly a month where some sort of great youth group is holding sports type activities at Walt Disney World.  If you have never been to the Wide World of Sports facilities you might want to venture over there on your next visit...it is quite a place!
