I am reading about the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. WDW website describes it has the lights on the castle, fireworks, and parade. Can't this be seen without spending the $60/person? Is the ticket really worth the cost when you have a family of 4

    Hi Mike:

There are few better places in the world to spend the Holiday season than at Walt Disney World.  The Park and Resorts are decorated and themed for the Holidays.

While you can enjoy castle lights and fireworks during the season without attending the event, I recommend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. One aspect that makes the party unique and different than a "regular" evening in the Park is the special holiday-themed parade and enhanced firework show. Guests are also greeted down Main Street with falling "snow," which is certainly a unique sight to see in Florida. Guests can also pick up complimentary cookies and cocoa and enjoy several meet and greet opportunities with characters as well as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Perhaps the biggest benefit is that since a separate ticket is required for entry to the party, lines to popular rides are also generally shorter (which is very unique and different for Walt Disney World).

Without knowing your budget, it's difficult to determine if the party is right for your family, but I tend to recommend that Guests consider enjoying the party at least once.
