I have just been reading about the change from Guest Assistance Cards to Disability Assistance System that will be going into effect on October 9, 2013 at the U.S. parks. Do you have any information about the new system?

    Hi Tracy,

Yes, after careful consideration, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card with the new Disability Access Service Card on October 9th. Assistance Cards will continue to be in effect until that date. Given the increasing volume of requests that Disney receives for special access to their attractions, they are changing the process so that it creates a more consistent experience for all Guests while providing accommodations for Guests with disabilities. The Disability Access Service Card will offer Guests a return time for an attraction based on the current wait time. More information will become available as we get closer to the October 9th implementation date.

Please rest assured that Disney has an unwavering commitment to making their experiences accessible to all Guests. You will want to contact Guest Relations to discuss your assistance needs upon arrival. Please let me know if I can assist you further and have a wonderful vacation,
