Just read where you said you had Deluxe DP last 2 times. Do you prefer Deluxe vs Basic? Husband and I are coming with our 12 & 8 yr. old. Want to dine at several signature restaurants. Would deluxe be the best choice for us? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Vicki!

I would definitely say go with Deluxe Dining if you plan to visit a few Signature restaurants (like, say, California Grill) on your visit. Signature restaurants count as 2 table service meals, and with the Deluxe Dining Plan, your family is entitled to 3 meals per day, which can be table service or quick.
But certainly plan out your dining before your trip. Disney says 3 meals per day, but you can actually use as many as needed until your credits are gone. But I mention plan, because you don't want to take in too many Signatures, and not have enough credits for meals for the remainder of your visit :-)

As for our family, we'll probably just take in Basic the next trip. Deluxe minus Signature restaurants is serious eating! Also, my son is a picky eater. There were a few table service we reserved when we probably would have been better off with quick service (where we could just grab and go and not wait for check, hostess, etc.). The 3rd thing was our last trip felt like we were planning our trip around where we we eat (because of reservations), and took away some of the flexibility. Flexibility, I've found, is oh so important with a 6 and 2 year old, the age of my children. Your children are older, so you should be good-smile!

Best wishes, and let me know if you have further questions!
