I read on another website where you can't park your car early at a park if you are going for a character breakfast. Is this true? We have reservations for Tusker House before the park opens and want to drive from Port Orleans.

If you are driving to the Animal Kingdom, the parking lot opens at 7:30 a.m. Otherwise, you'll take a WDW bus from your resort hotel. I'd recommend getting to the bus stop at 7:15 a.m. If you drive, you'll have more than enough time to get to your early character breakfast even if you have a first seating!

Once upon a time, the Animal Kingdom opened the parking lot much closer to 8:00 a.m. and this did indeed impact arrivals via automobile. I know as my family was once held at the toll booth. However, on our last vacation, the lot did indeed open at 7:30 a.m.!

Once you are at the Animal Kingdom, proceed through Security and then to the entrance turnstiles. To the far right are lines dedicated to early morning tours (Wild Africa Trek) and Character breakfast dining. A cast member will check your name on the reservation list, then you'll use your park admission to enter the park.

Cast Members will be situated along the route to point you towards the Tusker House restaurant in Harambe, Africa. Donald's Safari breakfast serves up an enjoyable morning buffet!

Enjoy a leisurely stroll. With the park not open to the general public yet, it's a wonderful time to get some good photos!
