I've read we can visit other hotels but not use the pools. What about the playgrounds? Can we check out AoA and let our kids have pictures taken with the Cars sets and climb on the Nemo playground?

Hi Kari,

You are absolutely welcome to visit other Disney resorts during your upcoming stay. That's one of my favorite activities whenever I take a trip to Walt Disney World. Be aware, however, that the main themed pool at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, is accessible only with a room key from that resort. Therefore, there may be sections of the resort to which you will be unable to gain access. If the RIghteous Reef Playground is inside the pool gates then your kids will not be able to play on it.

Nonetheless, there are some very cool photo opportunities at this resort. The food court, Landscape of Flavors, is pretty impressive too. Try to schedule your visit over lunchtime if possible. That's what I did when I visited the resort in early June.
