I have read two different things, that Disney buses only run one hour before and after park closing times and that busses will keep running as late as they need to. I don't know if we need to rent a car or not to be able to make later ADRs?

    Hi Whitney,

You are correct that for general purposes the busses will run one hour before park openings and approximately one hour after park closing, but with that said they will never leave anyone stranded.  If you have an early morning breakfast reservation which requires earlier than usual transportation or even later dinner reservations and there is no complimentary transportation available to bring you back to your WDW Resort, you can either take a cab or you can ask at Guests Services which options are available to get you back to your resort (they always have some kind of special bus or shuttle available to take you if you are eating in one of WDW's restaurants and have no other way to get there).  If you are eating at Animal Kingdom in Rainforest Cafe for example, they will not stop running the busses until everyone who needs transportation is accounted for and they will wait for you to dine if Animal Kingdom has already closed.

I always rent a vehicle when I travel to WDW for convenience, but you don't need to rent a car just to have early or late dining reservations.  A guest relations cast member can always help you with options if you are not sure so don't hesitate to ask.  Hope you have a fantastic trip!

    Best wishes,
