I read today that magic bands can now be purchased through the Disney Store. Are we able to link these bands to our MDE account prior to our trip or will it need to be done in person in the parks. We have AF Salute Tix which need ID for first use. Thanks!

    Hi Patricia,

Thanks so much for asking your awesome question! Yes, you can most definitely link your purchased MagicBands to your My Disney Experience account prior to your magical vacation. Once you purchase your MagicBands, log into your My Disney Experience account and look under the MagicBands and Cards section. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the Link button. You will then enter the special MagicBand ID number that's located on the back of each MagicBand. The MagicBand will then be linked to your account.

You'll also need to link your Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets to your account. Just go to the My Reservations and Tickets section of your account, click the Link Tickets button, and put in the voucher numbers on the back of your tickets. Please keep your hard tickets, since you will have to still get them activated in person on the first day of your visit to the theme parks. A Cast Member will then activate your tickets and make sure that they are linked to your MagicBands.

I hope this helps you, Patricia. If you have any other questions while planning your Walt Disney World vacation, please feel free to ask us at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
