I read somewhere online that Cafe Rix at Coronado Springs no longer brews coffee, relying instead on Nescafe (bleh.). I booked Coronado specifically because the restaurants there brewed the real thing! Can you confirm that only Nescafe is left @ Coronado?

Suzanne, I'm totally with you on your coffee sentiments. Jet-propulsion coffee doesn't hold a candle to the freshly brewed stuff.

I called Cafe Rix and I have bad news for you: it's Nescafe. Two other people I spoke with believe that the coffee is freshly brewed at Pepper Market Food Court. Maya Grill definitely has the fresh brewed stuff.

In terms of resort selection, I think you'd find most other moderate resorts to primarily offer Nescafe too. You do have a glimmer of hope with Pepper Market. So, I wouldn't change your reservation on the coffee options alone.

In the event that you strike out at Pepper Market too, I suggest bringing some Starbucks Via packets so that good coffee is readily available wherever you are. In fact, with most coffee on property over $2 a cup, the Starbucks Via could save you some money too (and piece of mind with predictability.)

    Good luck, my caffeinated compadre!
