Hey there Aliza,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! I'm happy to hear that you're already hard at work planning your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.
January is a fun time to visit the parks because there are typically a bit lighter crowds than normal - the
When to Visit FAQ page mentions this time as more of an "off-peak" time to visit. However, a trade-off you usually need to contend with during these times of year is that there may be more attractions down for refurbishment than during more typical "on-peak" times.
Your most valuable source of information here is going to be the
Hours & Events Schedule, which has a few togglable options near the top of the page like a date and park selector. Then near the bottom of the page is an expandable section that shows attractions that are planned to be closed for refurbishment.
I'll note that information on this page is subject to change - things can be added or removed at any time - so it's important to keep an eye on it. Since the
Holiday season runs through January 6, 2025, I would expect to see attractions with holiday overlays, like "it's a small world" Holiday, to be temporarily down for refurbishment while they remove those overlays. While I don't see any downtime reflected on the "Closed for Refurbishment" section of the Hours & Events page, you can select the dates on the actual
"it's a small world" Holiday and regular
"it's a small world" attraction pages.
From what I see on these two individual pages, it looks like the holiday overlay version is currently showing that it's operating through Saturday, January 11, 2025, but the non-holiday overlay page doesn't show any operational hours through the end of the available date ranges.
Again, things can and likely will change as we get closer to that date, and that doesn't necessarily mean that "it's a small world" will be closed for refurbishment during your January 21 visit. However, if "it's a small world" is your absolute top priority during a visit and your dates are flexible then it might be worth at least waiting a bit longer before booking your trip to see if more information becomes available.
Thanks again for your question, Aliza! I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the Disneyland Resort - whenever that may be!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
