Read on this site that the resorts are upgrading to smart TVs. Any idea if all resorts have these newer TVs? Does this mean we can sign into our personal Disney+ account while chilling in our room? You folks are such great help with all the little details!

    Hey there, Lindsay!

Thanks for trusting our advice and returning with more great questions for our team – we love the Disney details and are happy to help you make the most of your vacation!

Yes, slowly but surely all the Disney Resorts Collection hotels are upgrading their hardware in the resort rooms to new, interactive televisions. There are many that have these already in the room! This new system personalizes your in-room TV experience with a welcome message and additional content. I especially love the music to have playing in the background as I’m getting ready for a fun-filled theme park day, and my son adores the pajama story time for kids as some short stories are read to them each evening.

You can also enjoy streaming on these TVs, but you won’t log into your Disney+ account on the new TV itself, which is a security feature. You can use your own device and connect using the prompts on the TV to stream your own Disney+ or other content from your own device and cast it to the large TV screen in the resort room.

Smart phones, tablets, and laptops are supported to stream content to the TV but please note that only content from Chromecast-enabled apps (not mirroring) is supported. Please know that no Guest credentials are stored in the resort TV and all subscription service connections will be cleared upon check-out to ensure your account’s security.

There’s so much fun to be had around the Walt Disney World Resort but you’re right – chilling in the resort is also a much-needed pastime! My family always mindfully spends some time in our beautiful resort room to relax and enjoy the amenities and gorgeous atmosphere of these unique Disney Resorts Collection hotels. I hope these details help you envision a relaxing time at your resort, enjoying your favorite content!

Check out the recommended Disney+ content listed at the bottom of the home page in your My Disney Experience app, Lindsay! Open the app, scroll down, and find “Get Ready for Your Next Disney Trip with Disney+” to find a great list. Be sure you have your Disney+ subscriber information listed under your account so that you can see any special offers available, too. Please see those details in this answer I provided for another Guest.
