I've read that the ships are transitioning to refillable toiletries. Will they also do this in the concierge family verandah staterooms? We're a family with thick hair and use a lot of shampoo and conditioner. Thanks for sharing your Disney knowledge.

    Hi Cheryl!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for stopping by with your question about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation!  I hope you are ready for four-nights of non-stop fun and entertainment…. simply put, you will need a vacation from this vacation when it is all said and done!

You read correctly, Disney Cruise Line has been making changes onboard in their efforts to conserve the environment and one of these changes are the refillable toiletries in the staterooms.  I will be honest that at first, I was a little disappointed to hEAR of this change this because my family (especially my husband) always look forward to the Disney H20+ products onboard and I was unsure if they were going to be using the same products in the refillable bottles.  But we were pleasantly surprised when we embarked on the Disney Wonder last month and saw the refillable bottles for the first time – not only did they have our favorite products still being used, but the bottles were very large and were refilled often during our voyage!  I am quite certain that the changes pertain to all staterooms onboard, regardless of the category, and while I do understand your concern, I think you will be provided with more than you need while onboard!  And, if you ever need anything additional, don’t hesitate to ask your incredible stateroom host or hostess for a refill and they will be more than happy to accommodate your needs.

Additional efforts being made include eliminating plastic bags in the gift shops – you can purchase a reusable tote bag for $1 (pricing subject to change without notice) – which in itself is a great and usable souvenir and eliminating plastic straws and lids at the drink stations onboard.  I suggest bringing a refillable water bottle or tumbler to use at the drink stations to refill as needed which will not only get you more at a time, but also keep it cold for longer!  It’s always a good idea to throw in a small bottle of dish soap to wash the bottle daily, too!

Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure with Captain Mickey!

    Happy Sailing!
