I read that select resorts qualify for Extra Magic Hours. We are bringing our four kids for their first visit from May 4-12 and are staying in Port Orleans Riverside. Will our resort qualify for our entire stay?

    Hi Jon!

Yes, your resort absolutely qualifies. Any guest staying at a WDW-owned resort such as the Port Orleans Riverside may take part in the Extra Magic Hours (EMH).

Extra Magic Hours are a perk for resort guests that allow you some extra time in the parks. At least one park each day will feature Extra Magic Hours in the morning or evening. Morning EMHs will provide you access to the park one hour earlier than guests staying outside of Walt Disney World.

Evening EMH extends your day by 3 hours. If a park closes officially at 8:00 p.m, you'll be able to stay until 11:00 p.m.

Please note that everyone in your party must have their Resort ID with them so carry your kids IDs with you. Kids under age 3 do not need resort ID. You'll need your Resort ID/Key to the World card in order to gain access to the park for morning EMH and to the park plus the attractions for evening EMH.

Since guests are already in the parks at night, WDW gets the park cleared out of non-resort guests by having everyone show their IDs at the attractions. There used to be a wristband system but that is no longer in place.

I am so excited to hear about your upcoming vacation. Four kids on their first WDW trip. Magical!!
