I've read that some resorts have a view of the fireworks from the rooms and I thought that might be cool for our 3& 6yr old every night before bed and we would also like a good pool close to MK? BUT I love the idea of seeing animals if we stay at AK?

    Hello, Rachel!

You are absolutely correct; a view of the fireworks every night before going to be is truly special!

The resort which fits every one of your requirements is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort; be sure to ask for a Theme Park View.  Magic Kingdom is accessible by monorail, but you can even walk there in 5-10 minutes.  With a Theme Park View, you'll be able to see the fireworks from your room, as well.  The pool has a great slide, a children's pool and a convenient poolside bar.  This is the closest view you can get of the fireworks while snuggled up in your pajamas, in your own bed!

You can also book a stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort, just next door to Bay Lake Tower. You'll still be on the monorail, but it will be a tiny bit further to walk to Magic Kingdom.  There is also a water launch as well as buses to Magic Kingdom from this resort.  Again, be sure to book a Theme Park View.

Disney's Polynesian Resort also has Theme Park View rooms available, with a fantastic Nanea Volcano Pool, featuring a 40-foot high volcano, waterfall and slide. This resort is also on the monorail line, and offers water launches, as well as buses to nearby Magic Kingdom.

Regarding seeing animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge? That is a truly spectacular experience as well.  There's nothing like going to sleep, coming in from the parks or waking up in the morning, and feeling excited just to peek out your Savannah View window! This resort is a bit further away from the other parks, but the pool at Kidani Village more than makes up for that distance; Uwanja Camp includes a truly specatular, 3-station water playground, in addition to the main pool (and slide) as well. Your kids would love a day there, as well!

Send us more questions once you've decided which of your many magical options you'll choose!  We love to help!
