I've read that reservations are not required for Droid Depot, but have also been told that you can choose to make one. I would like to make a reservation for my grandson before our scheduled days at Disneyland. Please let me know how to do this.

Welcome to planDisney, Lori! Thanks for stopping by with your question. Sounds like you have a very magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth in your future. How exciting!

Well, Lori, let your conscience be your guide because, you are correct, no reservations are required, or even available, at the Droid Depot! Your grandson will just roll right in and get straight to work on his new droid-pal! Beep Bop Boop!

On a recent visit to a galaxy far, far away, my son had the opportunity to build his own droid at the Droid Depot! He had so much fun selecting all the parts he needed, in the colors he wanted, for his R-Series unit. After your grandson does the same, he will be assigned a workstation where he will assemble all the parts together using very straightforward instructions. The final, magical step will be to bring his droid to life. After getting acquainted, your grandson will be given the option to remote his new friend right out of the depot or to be put in a cozy box for safekeeping. Another option would be to take advantage of the complimentary Droid Daycare there at the depot. This way, your grandson will have his hands free to help Chewie pilot the Millennium Falcon! Just make sure to hold on to the receipt and plan to pick up his droid before the park closes that same day.

While you're adventuring in Batuu, you may want to experience the brand-new Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga. For any Star Wars fan, like my son, this is an incredible projection show that tells the remarkable story of the Skywalkers. It wowed us both! We were told by a friendly Cast Member that the best viewing spot was up against the back wall facing the Millennium Falcon, nearest the stairs. She said we wanted to be able to see across all the spires. She was right. The view was perfect! Check the Disneyland app for showtimes on the day of your visit, Lori, if you and your grandson would like to embark on a storytelling adventure across the galaxy.

I hope this has been helpful for you in your planning, Lori. The countdown is on until you and your grandson will be immersed in the Disneyland magic, but let's be honest, you're the real magic, Grandma.

My sincerest wishes to you both,
    McCayla

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
