I just read a question/answer about beads/jewellery made out of old Disney programs or maps. I totally missed that kiosk when we were there in November! Are these only available in Epcot or is there somewhere that we can buy them online?

    Hi Sandi,

The jewelry made by recycling Disney maps is very cool. The artisans cut the paper into tiny strips and spin it together to make beads of different shapes for earrings, bracelets and necklaces. You have to look really closely to try to figure out what the beads are made of.

The jewelry is inexpensive (I paid about $7 for a pair of earrings) and it makes a great souvenir and conversation piece. My fellow Moms Panelist Kirsten recently shared the story behind the jewelry. You may have seen that. I had no idea that buying the beads actually helps sustain families in Uganda. It makes me love my pieces even more.

The only place I've ever seen the jewelry is at the bead kiosk in the Outpost section of Epcot, which is near the China pavilion. To my knowledge, the pieces are not available from Disney online.

Thanks for your question. Come back to the Moms Panel any time!
