I have read posts that briefly discuss transportation within the coronado springs resort. Can you give me some information regarding what this is and how it works? I will be traveling with two children and the size of the resort has me concerned.

Hi Carrie!  I love Coronado Springs resort for many reasons and although it is a large resort with an internal bus system the pros for me out weigh the cons.

There are three sections of rooms at the resort, Casitas, Ranchos, and Cabanas. The Ranchos rooms are the furthest from the main lobby area but also closest to the main pool call the Dig Site. Cabana buildings 9A and 9B and Casitas buildings 1, 2, and 3 are closest to the Main section of the resort that includes the dining and shopping.  You can request one of these locations but it is certainly not guaranteed. If you choose to request then please send a fax about four or five days before your arrival to the resort.

A path will take you around the entire resort circling the lake making this a very nice walk on a good day. If it is too long then you will find a bus stop not far from your building where you can wait for a bus to take you to the lobby and main center of Coronado Springs. You then can transfer to a park bus at this location.

There are several pools through-out the different areas if you don't want to use the main pool. There is some recreation on the lake and good dining options offered next to the Business and Convention Center.  Some spa treatments are available and the rooms have recently been refurbished and all now have queen beds versus the double beds still found at all other moderate resorts. I hope you have a very magical Disney stay!
