Hello- I read that personal DVD players are not allowed on the ship. Does this "rule" apply to portable DVD players, or full size DVD players? I would like to bring a portable player for the airplane ride. Thanks for your help. :)

    Tania,
    This is a great question.

The personal DVD players and game systems that are prohibited from the ship are those that connect to a TV. Stateroom TVs are not compatible with these items.

Portable DVD players, laptops and hand-held game systems are absolutely fine. I can assure you that at one time or another my family has brought along all of these items onto the ship.

During long drives or flights, my son has used a portable DVD and/or hand-held game system and thus they came on the Disney Wonder with us. I can't remember him ever using them once onboard though. DCL's great youth programming along with the endless opportunities for family entertainment keeps kids and adults very busy. Upon return to our stateroom, our son is usually enthralled watching the Bridge Report on the stateroom TV or waiting for Room Service to arrive with an ice cream Mickey bar!
