I read that a person can still run the Castaway Cay 5k and get the medal. This is great to hear, but I was looking to purchase a shirt and a hat. There was a package prior to Covid. Is it possible to still purchase the items? Thank you in advance

Ahoy there, Connie! Thanks for pulling alongside us here at planDisney! I just picked up your message in a bottle!

Just under a month to go in your planning, huh? That's amazing! I hope you've started the Online Check In process so you'll be 100% ready to go in a matter of days. I'm so glad your day at Disney Castaway Cay will include the 5K - which you can currently run at your convenience! While I've never run it officially, my wife and I are those crazy people you'll see walking all the way from the ship, past the family beach, past the cabanas, and down the airstrip to Serenity Bay! I've never actually measured how far that is, but round trip, it has to be close to 5K, right?

Unfortunately, there isn't currently a package available to pre-book through Onboard Gifts, but I have FANTASTIC news: I sailed on over and checked with a crew member, and as of this writing you'll be able to find Castaway Cay 5K-themed merchandise on the island! SCORE!

Whether you decide to disembark early to pop into one of the shops on the island and pick up a new shirt and hat to run in, or reward yourself with some merch for a new personal best, it looks like smooth sailing for you, Connie. Now remember, offerings are subject to change and there may be limited availability, but keep a weather eye open for the treasure you seek!

I can't wait for you to enjoy a trip to Disney Castaway Cay. I can almost smell the barbecue at Cookie's BBQ and Cookie's Too from here, and it's a great way to refuel after running the 5K in a time that Dash would envy - and a soak in the turquoise waters to refresh doesn't sound too shabby either!

I wish you fleet feet, a PB, and great weather for your day, Connie! Thanks again for stopping by with your question! If you have any others while your finish planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney

    Fair winds and following seas!
