I've read about people recently getting free upgrades. My ? is how are they chosen? Is it just a random selection or should I call the reservation number to see if I'm eligible? Currently booked at POFQ for 9/26-10/3. THANKS!!!

Hi, Lisa!    The special free upgrades you are reading about are really few and far between.   I  have stayed at Disney Resorts 30 times or more and have never been offered one of these "pin codes" for a free upgrade.   When this happens, the guests are chosen at random and either receive a postcard or email to notify them of the offer.

If you were not notified, you will not be eligible.   A bunch of us from the panel will be in WDW the weekend they offered the latest upgrade.   Only 1 received the offer, and by the time she called, the  limited number of offers available were already filled up.

So don't feel bad, Port Orleans French Quarter is a wonderful resort, and you were saved the time of making additional phone calls and changing your reservations around :)   !  You made a great choice;  enjoy your WDW vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
