I read online that the resort childcare centers are closing. What are some alternatives instead of kids nite out? Our kids don’t want to be in a hotel room with a stranger; they’d rather be at a kids club with multiple kids

    Hi Elizabeth,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My husband and I had our first ever “Disney date night” last week, and it was amazing to be able to go out and enjoy some nightlife (side note: I highly recommend Abracadabar) while also knowing our kids were well cared for and having a blast without us.

We chose to leave our kiddos at Pixar Play Zone for our date night, which is a kids-only character experience for children aged 4-12 located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. They LOVED it! Check-in begins as early as 5:00 p.m., and you may pick your children up any time before 10:30 p.m. When you arrive for check-in, you’ll fill out some paperwork and your children will be able to select a meal and a snack from a provided menu, giving you even one less thing to worry about! The Pixar Play Zone is staffed by Disney Cast Members, and I was really impressed watching how they handled all kinds of questions about policies, safety, food allergies, and other special needs.

While they’re in the Pixar Play Zone, children enjoy games, dance parties, crafts, and other kid-sized experiences with their favorite Pixar characters. While my daughter loved the Woody’s Roundup portion of the night, my son was all about the dance party with Mr. Incredible and Edna Mode. My daughter is on the older end of the age range, and she was a little hesitant to attend, but both of my children came out with nothing but great reviews, and asking “when can we do this again?”

The current cost is $65 per child, plus tax. For more information about Pixar Play Zone, or to sign up, please call (407) 824-KIDS.

I hope that helps, Elizabeth, and that you’re able to get some grown-up time in on your Walt Disney World Vacation!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
