Hi moms. I read online that onhalloween night kids can go trick or treating in downtown disney. Is there a cost for this? also how would this be as compared to mnsshp. the price is pretty high.

    Hi Steph!

Trick or Treating at Downtown Disney is a great FREE way to spend Halloween night with your little boys and "ghouls!"  While the 2009 schedule hasn't been released yet, last year over ten different shops offered candy for the little ones.  Some of the other spooky festivities at Downtown Disney last year included storytelling, stilt walking, magic and even a high energy dance party!  Because this is all free, it does tend to get a little crowded.  Also, most all Disney resorts will be offering some frighteningly good fun - from movies to costume parades.  Over at Fort Wilderness, a haunted carriage ride rode through the woods many times throughout the night and cost around $60 for a family of five.  Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is the main even at the Magic Kingdom, but as you mentioned, it is pretty pricey.  Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong celebrating Halloween absolutely anywhere in Disney World!
