    Just read Main Street will be open prior to park opening and opening show will be at castle. How early will guests be able to get in? Made res. For Crystal Palace before park opens and wanted almost empty castle pic.

    Hi Melanie! This past December Disney announced a new Early Morning Rope Drop Ceremony for the Magic Kingdom.

    The park will allow guests into the park to enjoy the shops on Main Street from 30-45 minutes before the official park opening. Many times it will depend on the crowds as to what time they will actually let guests in. On busier days you might get in earlier as they want to disperse the guests into a larger area.

    The opening show will now take place on the castle stage and that will happen at the park opening time. Cast members will literally have ropes blocking off walkways to other areas of the park and when the show is over these ropes will be taken down and the guests will head to their favorite attractions.

    Getting that early morning picture of the castle will be a bit harder now that they have started this new rope drop. If you have an early reservation at a Magic Kingdom restaurant you will be allowed in but timing will be everything to get that great photo. Now it will mean getting as early as possible reservation time such as 7:30am for a 9am park opening day.
