I’ve read a lot about a balloon drop on New Year’s Eve at the Grand Floridian. Do you have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy this?

    Hi Bryan,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for assistance with your New Year's Eve planning!

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a great place to celebrate the holiday if you prefer not to be in a theme park. You are correct that they host a fun balloon drop at midnight. Additionally, they set up a dance floor in the lobby and the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra and a pianist play music throughout the evening. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy the New Year's Eve festivities. That being said, I recommend that you book Advanced Dining Reservations at either Cítricos or Narcoossee's. Not only are they fantastic restaurants, but you can easily park your car at the resort if you have dining reservations there. If you are staying onsite in a different resort, you are welcome to use the monorail or other resort transportation to get back to your room as well. Please let us know if we can assist you further and have a wonderful time, regardless of how you choose to ring in your new year!

    Wishing you magical memories,
