Read a lot about ADRs. Will I miss out on best experiences if I book ADRs in May for Oct8-15 trip? Saw note about calling as early as 6 a.m. on 180 pre-trip- do things book that fast? If I make ADRs for 8 ppl, but only 4 can go, can I call to change #?

Hi Erin! In short, yes some restaurants do book up that fast. If there are places that you know you will want to dine in, I highly recommend that you call 180 days in advance (dial 407-WDW-DINE). The phone lines open at 7am, EST and I have always started dialing at 6:55am (hitting redial until they open the lines). By doing this, I have always been able to reserve Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier, California Grill, Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana and other hard to book popular meals (and for the times that I want too). However, I plan to book online next time instead.

If you choose to wait, you will still most likely be able to book dining just might not be at your first choice restaurants, or for times that you prefer.

As far as the number of people, it is easier to start with 8 and drop to 4 than it is to start with 4 and then increase up to 8. Parties of 8 take larger tables and there are a limited number of those available. I would go ahead and book for 8, then if you need to change to 4 just give them a call to let them know.

Hope this helps and that you have a magical vacation!
