Did I read that after January 9, 2024 you no longer have to make park reservations? Going next May. Should I wait to buy tickets after Jan. 9th?

Hey there, Jaynee! It's great to see you here again at planDisney!

Jaynee, you are correct that for visits beginning January 9, 2024, Disney Park Pass reservations will no longer be required for standard tickets. You can read more about this announcement HERE

Now, while currently (and for the remainder of 2023) Disney Park Pass reservations are required for guests, you can purchase your vacation package or tickets for May 2024 now and there is no need to make theme park reservations. In fact, if you know the dates you'd like to vacation, I would encourage you to go ahead and secure your trip now if you're planning to stay at a Disney Resort Hotel (as you'll have the most options further in advance).

Jaynee, no matter if you're planning a week long stay with visits to each park or a quick weekend getaway where you focus on one destination, I hope you have a Magical May vacation! Please come on back with any additional questions.
