Hello Kristen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There is something extra magical about waking up in the morning to see giraffes, zebras and gazelles roaming outside of the window of your Savanna View room at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. When my family stayed in a Deluxe Studio - Savanna View Room on a vacation, I would wake up before everyone else, brew a coffee and spend time watching the animals roam with the sunrise.
It may be an exaggeration to say that the animals show up at your door, as they are separated by an invisible fence to protect both animal and Guest, but you really do feel immersed in an incredible environment. Savanna View Rooms look out upon 1 of 2 savannas, open areas where various exotic animals roam freely. There are various feeding stations to encourage the animals to mingle throughout the day and I found that we always had animals to watch.
While all Savanna View Rooms look out upon the animals, I personally recommend a 2nd Floor Room close to the elevators. This puts you into a room with a great view of the animals but not to far of a walk from all of the activities in these sprawling resort hotels.
Be sure to pick up a recreation schedule from Guest Services when you arrive to take advantage of the numerous animal-related activities like the night-vision views at night and the bead collecting for the kids.
I also heartily recommend dining at Sanna at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. Ask for a window table for another
spectacular view of animals up close while you dine. I hope you have a wild adventure!
