Hi Jonathan:
Thanks for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another question. I would be happy to clarify your questions concerning dining reservations. The Disney Dining Plan is very flexible and offers guests an economical way to experience so many of Disney's fabulous dining options. Currently, guests do not have to have added the dining plan or paid in full in order to book Advanced Dining Reservations. If you have the Disney Dining Plan added, you will have several benefits. First of all, on the 180 day prior to arrival you will be able to book all of your dining reservations for the length of your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation, instead of having to go online every day as the 180 day comes available one at a time. Also, if you are choosing to attend a Dinner Show or dine at Cinderella's Royal Table, you will only need a credit card guarantee where as guests not using the dining plan will have to pay in full.
Something that has changed in the past few years is that now a credit card guarantee is required for Advanced Dining Reservations. Your card will not be charged unless you do not show up or cancel before the stated cancellation date. Be sure to read the details of your reservation as some locations have different policies. As I mentioned earlier, if you are wanting to attend a dinner show or dine at Cinderella's Royal Table and you do not have the Disney Dining Plan, you will be required to pay in advance.
Please remember that
Advanced Dining Reservations can be made up to 180 days prior to arrival online or by calling (407) 939-1947.
I hope that helps Jonathan. Please let me know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation, I would be happy to help!
Stephanie
