I just read that Expectant Mothers should NOT ride Kilamanjaro Safaris at AK, my family visits often and this is my FAV. ride. I will be 6 months pregnant for our trip this Dec. & I cant recall why this ride may be harmful, am i forgetting something?

    Hi Chelsea,

I can see why Kilimanjaro Safaris is your favorite ride.  When I experienced the safari last month, I got to see the new baby elephant at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  You just never know what amazing new discoveries you will make on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Although this attraction is typically one that everyone in the family can enjoy, there are parts of the expedition that go through very rough terrain.  Guests will experience some rigorous jostling and bouncing on this ride.  I think Disney's suggestion that expectant mothers forgo this ride is a good one.  It's always better to be safe than sorry.  Besides, there are plenty of other places throughout Disney's Animal Kingdom where you can observe the animals.  You could go over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and observe some gorgeous specimens on their savannas too.

Wishing you a safe and wonderful pregnancy and a lifetime of magical trips to Walt Disney World!
