My very warmest welcome to planDisney, Lisa. I am so glad you brought your question here to us today. Navigating through accurate information versus noise about Walt Disney World can sometimes be a tricky task.
Here's what I know as the current U.K. planDisney panelist. First up, if you buy a gift card from the U.K.
shopDisney website, it won't work at the Parks. If you want to use a Disney gift card in Florida, you will need to purchase one at Walt Disney World or with a U.S. shipping address.
We like to purchase Disney Gift Cards on arrival for our kids to stick to a budget for treats (or for me at any
EPCOT festival food booth because I want to try EVERYTHING). Buying a gift card is one of my top tips for sticking to a budget! We even think of the themed cards as a little souvenir! It's a quick and easy purchase at any onsite retail location. You can add from as little as $25 up to $500 - if you're feeling particularly decadent.
Please remember that if you're using a U.K. credit or debit card, your bank may charge you a fee for every transaction, which can add up. There are fee-free international cards available that you can link to your
My Disney Experience and use throughout the parks, or making a single Gift Card purchase can also help reduce international fees.
Lisa, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy all the magical moments at Walt Disney World. Please do pop back here with any other questions, Louise.
