Hi, i have read that Disney banned ECV Scooters from the parks. Is that true? I will be traveling with my grandmother and she uses scooters to help get around the parks as it’s hard on her to walk a lot. Please help clarify. Thank you

    Hi Bernice,

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm so glad to hear you will be vacationing with your grandmother in just a few short weeks.  Vacationing at the Most Magical Place on Earth with our dearest loved ones is a precious experience to be sure.  You are going to make some amazing memories!

You will be happy to know that Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV) are allowed to be used at the Walt Disney World Resort, including the theme parks.  In fact, you are able to make an ECV Rental at each of the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs!  Whenever you rent an ECV inside of the theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs, it must remain at that location and cannot be taken off the premises.  However, there is a Disney featured provider listed at the bottom of the previous linked page in which you can rent an ECV for use during your entire stay throughout the entire Walt Disney World Resort and do not need to rent/return each day.  The Disney featured provider will even drop off and pick up your ECV rental from your Disney Resort hotel.

Bernice, since your grandmother has mobility issues, I wanted to let you know about the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities.  Within that link you will learn about ways your grandmother can access attractions as well as other information such as Walt Disney World transportation with an ECV.

I see that you will be visiting during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and I hope you have a chance to check it out.  The festival is included with your admission to EPCOT and is a fan favorite for a reason!  From seeing the Living Topiaries, visiting the Outdoor Kitchens, and experiencing the Garden Rocks Concerts Series, everyone in your party is sure to find a new favorite to enjoy.

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question, and please be sure to visit us again with all of your future vacation planning questions.

    See Ya Real Soon,
