I read a description of a Scotland family itinerary on the DisneyVacationsClub website, but can find no further info on this. Is this open to general public? Someone thought it would be ABD; is that the case, and if so, where can I find more info?

    Hi Debbie,

Disney Vacation Club members have the option of trading their annual allotment of membership points with RCI.  Doing so enables them to stay at their choice of over 400 resorts in more than 25 countries around the world.  It's a simple and exciting way to expand your family's vacation horizons.  For instance, DVC points can be traded for a stay at the Hilton Craigandarroch in Royal Deeside, Scotland or, another option is to stay at the Macdonald Forest Hill Hotel & Spa in Stirling, Scotland.  These are just two examples of places DVC members can stay through a point exchange with RCI.  Of course, these resorts are not exclusive to DVC members.  Anyone can book a cash stay at resorts such as these by contacting the resorts online or working with a trusted travel agent.

Do keep in mind that whether you are staying on DVC points or paying for your room with cash this is not an Adventures by Disney-type experience complete with a group itinerary and tour guides.  These are simply resorts where you could stay while exploring the wonders of Scotland.

Let me know, Debbie, if I can assist you with any additional questions.

Best wishes to you as you plan a magical European adventure!
