Read that when checking in to ask for a free upgrade and if they aren't too full, you might get one. Staying at AKL May 14-18. Is there any truth to this info? Feeling a bit timid about asking as it seems a bit presumptuous on my part. Your thoughts?

    Hi Michael:

Presumptuous? Presumptuous? Not at all. Disney World is all about making dreams come true (to the extent possible). Feel free to ask for an upgrade upon check-in. I would be careful about expecting one, since there are no guarantees, and the request is very difficult to grant, especially at popular Resorts like Animal Kingdom Lodge. But feel free to ask if you feel comfortable to do so, and maybe you'll be surprised. But even if Disney World is not able to accommodate your request, you will be in for a very magical vacation.

    Enjoy.
